Safety is the whole reason Beremi exists. Here is exactly how we look after every learner, on every trip.
What safety measures does Beremi Scholar Transport have in place?
Beremi Scholar Transport operates under strict safety standards on every trip. Every vehicle carries a dedicated Scholar Transport Chaperone in addition to the driver, so the driver can focus fully on the road while the chaperone looks after the learners. Our vehicles are fitted with live camera monitoring, undergo daily inspections, and follow a strict policy of no speeding, no overcrowding, no overloading and full compliance with road traffic laws. Every journey is fully supervised from pickup to drop-off.
Is there adult supervision on every trip?
Yes. Every Beremi vehicle carries a dedicated Scholar Transport Chaperone in addition to the driver, on every trip, without exception. The chaperone is there specifically to care for the learners while the driver concentrates on driving. It is one of the ways we set ourselves apart from operators who rely on the driver alone to manage both the road and the children.
What does the Beremi Chaperone do?
Our Chaperone looks after the full learner experience during the trip. That means greeting learners as they board, helping younger learners safely in and out of the vehicle, taking daily attendance, making sure every learner wears their seatbelt where fitted, supervising behaviour, keeping learners seated, walking younger children to school entrances where needed, confirming every learner is safely collected, and keeping parents informed when required. The goal is a calm, respectful and caring environment on every journey.
Are Beremi vehicles monitored with cameras?
Yes. All Beremi vehicles are fitted with live-feed cameras for continuous monitoring during every trip. Live camera monitoring increases learner safety, encourages good behaviour, promotes responsible driving and gives parents real transparency. Footage can also be reviewed if an incident ever needs looking into. It is one of the ways we hold ourselves accountable to the families who trust us with their children.
Do you overload your vehicles?
Never. Beremi Scholar Transport has a strict no-overloading policy. Every learner has their own seat, and we never carry more learners than the vehicle’s licensed seating capacity. Overloading is illegal under South African law and it dramatically increases the risk of serious injury in a crash. We will not compromise on this, ever.
Do your drivers speed?
No. Our drivers strictly obey speed limits and all traffic regulations. Together with our chaperone system and live camera monitoring, that means every trip is driven at safe, legal speeds, and we can verify it. Responsible driving is a non-negotiable part of the Beremi service standard.

What should parents look for when choosing scholar transport in South Africa?
South African law and the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) recommend that parents check a few things before enrolling a child with any scholar transport service: a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) for every driver, a current operating licence from the Provincial Regulatory Entity, a roadworthy certificate and valid licence disc on every vehicle, Passenger Liability Insurance, and one seat with a working seatbelt for each child so there is no overloading. It is also worth confirming there is proper supervision on board. At Beremi, that means a dedicated chaperone on every trip.
Is Beremi Scholar Transport licensed and insured?
Yes. Beremi Scholar Transport holds a valid operating licence, our vehicles carry current roadworthy certificates, and we have Passenger Liability Insurance in place, so every child on board is properly covered. For privacy and security reasons we prefer not to publish these documents on the website, but any prospective client who would like to verify them is welcome to ask, and we will gladly provide proof on request.
Is it legal to transport children in the back of a bakkie?
No. Under South African law it is illegal to transport children in the goods compartment of any vehicle, including bakkies and light delivery vehicles. Scholar transport operating licences specifically prohibit it. Every learner must have a proper seat with a working seatbelt, and a vehicle may never carry more children than there are seats. It is one of the most common causes of preventable scholar transport injuries in South Africa, and one of the reasons parents should always check what kind of vehicle their operator uses.

What ages or grades does Beremi Scholar Transport cater for?
Beremi Scholar Transport caters for learners of all ages, from Grade R and primary school right through to high school. The schools on our routes include both primary and high schools across Midrand, so whether your child is just starting Grade R or writing matric, we can look after their daily trip. Younger learners get extra help from our chaperone getting safely in and out of the vehicle and to the school gate. If you are not sure whether we cover your child’s grade, just ask.
Do you provide door-to-door pickup and drop-off?
Yes, door-to-door service is available where it is practical. We collect your child from your home address in the morning and bring them back to the same address in the afternoon, so there is no walking to a central pickup point and no waiting alone on a corner. Where door-to-door is not possible, for example some estates and complexes have their own access rules, we agree on the safest possible collection point with you at sign-up.
Do you transport learners to extra-mural activities?
Yes. Beremi offers transport to selected extra-mural activities on top of the standard morning pickups and afternoon drop-offs. What we can offer depends on your route, your child’s school and the activity location, so get in touch and we will confirm what we can arrange around your child’s schedule.

How much does Beremi Scholar Transport cost?
Our fees are not a fixed, one-size-fits-all rate. What you pay depends mainly on the distance we travel and the school your child attends, so every quote is worked out for your specific route. Send us a WhatsApp enquiry on 079 341 8788 with your home address, your child’s school and grade, and we will gladly put together a personalised quotation for you. Sibling discounts and referral rewards can bring that down further.
Does Beremi offer a sibling discount?
Yes. Families receive a 10% discount for every additional sibling travelling with Beremi Scholar Transport. If you have two children on our service, the second child gets 10% off. Three children means 10% off both the second and the third. It is our way of making safe scholar transport more affordable for families with more than one learner.
Do you have a referral programme?
Yes. Refer a new learner to Beremi Scholar Transport and you will receive 30% off one month’s transport fee. The discount is applied once the learner you referred has been an active rider for 90 consecutive days. Great service is worth sharing, and we would rather reward the parents who help us grow than spend the money on advertising. Get in touch for the full referral terms.

We will confirm route availability and monthly pricing, help you complete registration, and get your child onto a safe, supervised route as quickly as possible.
